FRI3SER
FRI3SER is a rhythm-driven piano trio led by Basel-based pianist Lucca Fries, creating hypnotic music with physical intensity and emotional immediacy. Droning piano textures fuse with heavy beats and bass riffs, slowly morphing and expanding into long arcs of tension. FRI3SER grew from Fries’ desire to bring his piano playing, shaped by insistent ostinati, dark harmonies and a visceral directness, together with the hard-hitting beats, riffs and intensity of the alternative rock and metal he fell in love with as a teenager. Fries’ compositions also draw on elements of club music, such as slowly shifting beats and tension-filled breaks, giving FRI3SER a trance-like quality. FRI3SER’s self-titled debut album, produced by Grammy-winning producer John Davis, will be released in November 2026.
