Drawing inspiration from the minimalist works of Ryuichi Sakamoto and Alva Noto, pianist Lucca Fries and Slowenian electronic artist Jaka Arh first united in June 2024, for an impromptu improvisation in the intimate setting of Fries’ living room. With no expectations in mind, the session unfolded into something entirely unexpected, yet profoundly beautiful. They both agreed that such effortless and inspired musical connection is rare. The flow of time seemed to stretch, and the space around them expanded, creating a moment they didn’t want to leave. Picture the immersive atmosphere of The Necks blending with the sonic textures of Brian Eno – long, evolving improvisations where Fries’ soulful piano is captured, subtly altered, and enriched with live electronics by Arh, weaving a complex and living soundscape that continuously unfolds.
